Hello everyone, hope all is well. Within the last few days, 70s stalwart artist, Rich Buckler, creator of Deathlok, the hero literally "locked in death," lost a long battle with cancer. He was 68.
Rich came out of Detroit in the late 60s and began instantly getting work from Marvel Comics. throughout the 70s, Rich drew Fantastic Four as well as The Avengers, before creating his own character, Deathlok."
In the 80s, Rich co-created "All-Star Squadron" with Roy Thomas. Later in his career, I met Rich after a panel discussion and found him a very personable and bright student of the times in which he was working. I purchased that day, a drawing of both Batman and Silver Surfer. He was a very nice man and tremendous artist.
Take care and adopt a (Rich Buckler) comic book today!
